Small Engine Basics Course

The Small Engine Basics Course is an 8 session class led by the Master Mechanics from Step One Automotive Group.

The HSU Educational Foundation is offering a Small Engine Basic Repair course , lead instruction by Step One Automotive, at the HSU Innovation Institute South. This course will be held 2 times per week for 2 hours each session. (Wednesdays 5 pm to 7 pm, and Saturdays 10 am to noon).

The “Small Engine Basics Repair” course will be 4 weeks long, for a total of 16 hours and led by a Step One Automotive Senior Master Mechanic. Students of middle and high school level will be taking apart a small engine, putting it back together and starting the engines. The students will learn basic parts of the engine, the tools needed and techniques that can be applied to vehicle engine repair.

For the final class on April 1st, family members are invited to stay for the length of the class to watch their participant put the final touches on the engine and start it. The HSU Educational Foundation workforce development partner for this camp is the Step One Automotive Group.

Course Dates:

March 8th, 11th, 15th, 18th, 29th, April 1st, 5th, and 8th

We will not have class on March 22nd and 25th.

* Please let us know if the participant will be unable to attend any session. Bring a water bottle with you to class.
