The Engine to Achieving A Dream
The HSU Educational Foundation was founded by Chairman Dr. Paul Hsu, a successful immigrant tech entrepreneur, and community leader. Dr. Hsu, a true example of the American Dream, has long given back to his community in support of students, entrepreneurs, airmen and education. He later developed the HSU Educational Foundation as a way to join together with those who share his vision to grow the mission and encourage encourage a bright future through innovation and education.
The HSU Educational Foundation is a 501c3 not-for-profit public charitable organization created to encourage excellence in teaching and foster innovation. The HSU Foundation is focused on promoting opportunities to motivate and encourage exploration in the STEM fields, inspire innovation among the community and empower warfighters through high demand technical skills and the resources to develop their ideas. Through partnership support, the HSU Educational Foundation currently provides a multifaceted approach to workforce development by offering diverse programming.
A Community Working Together
Fieldwerx is made possible through a partnership with 1st Special Operations Wing, Air Force Research Lab and the HSU Educational Foundation.
Airmen assigned to Hurlburt Field and Eglin AFB, local business and industry experts, and thousands of students from around Okaloosa County have the opportunity to learn and develop solutions for real-world problems.

What's New at HSU?
Drone Team Challenge Advanced – CVW
Mon Aug 3 – Fri Aug 7, 2026, 1 pm – 5 pm, HSU Innovation Institute North in Crestview. Open to rising 3rd – 12 grades. This camp will allow students the opportunity to expand their piloting and drone creation capabilities.
Introduction to Carpentry Camp – FWB
Mon Aug 3 – Fri Aug 7, 2026, 8 am- 12 pm, HSU Innovation Institute South in FWB. Open to students in middle and high school. This camp explores the basics of carpentry and applies the use of workshop tools and equipment with instruction by industry professionals.
LEGO Prime Robotics Camp FWB
Mon Aug 3 – Fri Aug 7, 2026, 1 pm – 5 pm, HSU Innovation Institute South in FWB. Open to 3rd – 6th grade students. The students will create engineering projects in this exploration of coding and robotics camp!
AI Vibe Coding Basics-FWB
Mon Jul 27 – Fri Jul 31, 2026, 1 pm – 5 pm, HSU Innovation Institute South in FWB. Geared to students aged 13 and up. Dive into HSU AI Vibe Coding, an exciting course designed for aspiring developers who want to harness AI-powered magic!
Drone Team Challenge Advanced – FWB
Mon Jul 27- Fri Jul 31, 2026, 1 pm – 5 pm, HSU Innovation Institute South in FWB. Open to Rising 3rd – 12th graders. The Drone Team Challenge Advanced Camp is open to students who have competed in the DTC program and will cover new drone operation topics.
Junior Rocket Camp – FWB
Tues July 21- Thurs July 23, 2026, 1 pm – 3 pm, HSU Innovation Institute South in FWB. Open to students ages 7 – 12. During this Rocket Camp students will learn to build and launch water powered rockets.
