Beginning April 28, 2021, the HSU Educational Foundation and Step One Automotive Group will be conducting a Small Engine Basic Repair course at the HSU Innovation Institute at 709 Anchors Street in Ft. Walton Beach.

This course will be held 2 times per week for 2 hours each class. (Wednesdays 5 pm to 7 pm, and Saturdays 10 am to 12 pm). The “Small Engine Basics” course will be 5 weeks long, for a total of 20 hours and led by Step One Automotive Master Mechanics.

Students, aged 13-17 years old, will be taking apart a small engine and putting it back together over the 10 class sessions. The students will learn basic parts of the engine, the tools needed and techniques that can be applied to vehicle engine repair.
