Mayor JB Whitten shared how Crestview’s transition to a council–manager form of government created a more welcoming, efficient, and partnership-driven city, supporting business growth, military families, workforce housing, and innovative initiatives such as drone and aviation training in collaboration with the HSU Educational Foundation. Okaloosa County Sheriff Eric Aden and Airports Director Tracy Stage underscored how partnerships and technology are transforming public safety and economic development. Sheriff Aden highlighted the success of the Post Overdose Support Team and the responsible use of AI and drone technology to enhance law enforcement effectiveness while maintaining public trust. Director Stage detailed the rapid growth of Destin–Fort Walton Beach Airport and Bob Sikes Airport, driven by strong coordination with Eglin Air Force Base and private industry, including workforce programs that are placing graduates directly into high-paying aviation careers. Together, the panel reinforced a shared message: Okaloosa County’s progress is powered by leaders who collaborate, innovate, and act—turning vision into measurable results for the community.
