Recognizes and rewards eligible high school educators* with top TEAMS awards of $5,000 each and merit awards of $500 each sponsored by local businesses. Selection is made through a nomination and application process. Nominations may be submitted by anyone – students, parents, community members, faculty, and teachers may even nominate themselves.
To nominate an eligible Okaloosa County, Florida public high school educator who teaches STEM subjects at least 50% of their day, please follow this link:
Applications are reviewed by a TEAMS committee made up of Chamber of Commerce representatives from the local business community.
Nominations must be received no later than April 2, 2021, and applications must be submitted no later than 12 pm on May 7, 2021.

2021 Teaching Excellence Awards in Mathematics and Science (TEAMS) Program Information
Recognizes and rewards elementary and middle school level teachers “caught in the act” of inspiring interest and performance in the study of STEM.
The TEAMS committee receives recommendations and votes on the selection of these candidates for special recognition and $1,000 rewards.
Recommendations are reviewed by a TEAMS committee made up of Chamber of Commerce representatives from the local business community.
Recognizes and rewards teachers who demonstrate use of more proactive techniques in the education of students within the STEM subject areas by providing funds and resources to empower their ability to continue these pursuits.
These efforts may occur in classroom learning settings or through extracurricular endeavors such as robotics teams, tech demos, field experiences, and educator training.
Eligible teachers of STEM in grades K-12* may submit requests for review and selection by the TEAMS Committee.
