Join HSU Educational Foundation FieldWerx on Saturday, January 8th, for another exciting Game Changers family event, which will feature the members of the Project 1 team – 1st Special Operations Wing from Hurlburt Field. Project 1 is Hurlburt’s Spark Cell and is made up of 4 active duty airman from units across the Wing. They work with airmen from all of the Wing’s subordinate units to help develop innovative solutions for day to day problems through process improvement techniques, rapid prototyping of ideas, and educational courses. Additionally, Project 1 provides access to and education on the use of woodworking tools, additive manufacturing systems, 3D modeling software, laser engravers, and welding tools.

Families will be exposed to the basics of additive manufacturing (3D printing), laser engraving and a sampling of the innovative work Project 1 has done for the 1st Special Operations Wing over the past several years.

The Game Changers program provides interactive, shared science and technology events for families, inspiring excitement while encouraging critical thinking and problem solving. The Game Changers program is sponsored in part by Gulf Power and usually meets the first Saturday of each month during the school year. Exploring business expertise and STEM technologies together sparks conversations among family members and can help participants apply educational principles to the real world.
