HSU Pub Fridays are informal, no cost social gatherings of STEM professionals, aspiring entrepreneurs, and imagineers. Attendees will be offered beverages, food, and fun all while learning something new! We love to have you join us because it is not just about having great ideas, but about making ideas happen!

ABOUT THE AUTHORS

Brigadier General Robert Gwyn Armfield, USAF Retired

Gwyn Armfield served 28-year years in the Air Force spending most of his time as a Special Tactics Officer leading Combat Controllers and Pararescuemen on special operations around the globe to include the initial invasion of Afghanistan in 2001. He rose to serve as the Deputy Commanding General for all US and Coalition Special Operations Forces in Afghanistan. After retiring from active duty, Gwyn founded a consulting company that works with corporate and non-profit organizations to develop leaders, manage risks, and create useful technologies. He serves on a variety of boards and is active in his local church. Gwyn is a proven leader, and he shares many of his lessons in LEAD TO SERVE.

Lieutenant General Bruce Fister, USAF Retired

Bruce Fister was a pilot in the U.S. Air Force for over 32 years, commanded multiple units, and has had leadership roles in global military operations and in Christian nonprofit organizations. Bruce was an Air Commando in Vietnam having flown over 1,000 combat hours in the C-123. He held command positions during operation Urgent Fury in Grenada in 1983 and operation Just Cause in Panama in 1989. He has been in business, and perhaps most important, served as Executive Director of Officers’ Christian Fellowship for 10 years. Bruce has taken a servant approach to leadership for over 50 years and shares those experiences in LEAD TO SERVE.
