Small Engine Basic Repair Course

The HSU Educational Foundation is offering a Small Engine Basic Repair course, lead instruction by Step One Automotive, at the HSU Innovation Institute South. This course will be held 2 times per week for 2 hours each session. (Wednesdays 5 pm to 7 pm, and Saturdays 10 am to noon).

The “Small Engine Basics Repair” course will be 4 weeks long, for a total of 16 hours and led by a Step One Automotive Senior Master Mechanic. Students of middle and high school level will be taking apart a small engine, putting it back together and starting the engines. The students will learn basic parts of the engine, the tools needed and techniques that can be applied to vehicle engine repair.

For the final class on February 17th, family members are invited to stay for the length of the class to watch their participant put the final touches on the engine and start it. The HSU Educational Foundation workforce development partner for this camp is the Step One Automotive Group.

Course Dates:

March 27th, 30th, April 3rd, 6th, 10th, 13th, 17th, and 20th

Participants must wear closed toed shoes

* Please let us know if the participant will be unable to attend any session. You may bring a water bottle with you to class.
