Speaking with youth about leadership and encouraging them to see the opportunities available in America is such a worthwhile experience. So many young people these days are cynical about the future, but with the right motivation and a change of mindset, there is no reason why they can’t accomplish their dreams.

I was honored to join a group of other speakers recently at a United for a Good Cause leadership conference for middle and high school students in my hometown in Florida. Many of the students attending had scarcely heard about entrepreneurship, STEM careers such as engineering or had even considered whether they could be an innovator for their generation. They heard from authors, members of the military, business leaders, coaches, teachers and philanthropists. They were also entertained musically by someone with autism. By hearing from adults and students alike on topics such as overcoming challenges with creative solutions, these students were empowered with positive messages that will hopefully shape a path for a successful futures.
